  1. This competition is open to amateur and professional photographers residing in any country in the world aged 18 years or over, except for members of the jury.

  2. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.

  3. Submission period is from November 18 to March 10, 2012. Voting will start as soon as the photos have been posted. Last day of voting is on March 10, 2012.All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date.

  4. The Top 3 entries will receive: First prize: iPad 16GB 3G - New item in original packaging. Second and third prize: Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson (Hardcover Book).

  5. Each Entry consists of an entry form, one or more images, and an entry fee. The entry fee is US$ 6 for every submission. To enter visit f8mag.com/contest, complete an entry form with the required information, including your full name, email address and photo caption, NGO or aid organization to donate a portion of the funds raised; and submit along with your photograph and fee in accordance with the instructions that follow. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.

  6. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that the image they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photography they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.

  7. The photograph must not contain obscene, racist, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content.

  8. Photographs must be in digital format. Only online entries will be eligible. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this Contest. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies, or photographic prints are acceptable. All digital files must be in JPEG or JPG format, 72 dpi and between 1MB and 5MB and must be at least 1,200 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,200 pixels tall (if a vertical image). Entrants should include their own name and email.

  9. A percentage of the funds raised (25%) will be donated to NGO or aid organization,chose by the participants.

  10. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants.

  11. The prizes as described are available on the date of publication (March 15, 2012). All prizes are non transferable and there are no cash alternatives. Winners (Top 3) will be notified within five days of the closing date of the competition.

  12. USE OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS – pictures covered by this agreement, will be used according to the following premises:

    F8Magazine published an article about the winners (Top 3) including their pictures and bio. Its use is restricted to a single issue of the magazine. The publication will be exclusively in a digital format.

    F8Magazine rejects distribute, create derivative works or using the images involved in the competition for commercial purposes, rejecting expressly obtain any benefit from economic type for sale or transfer of the same. The Magazine not lease or authorise the use of the pictures received by the photographer to third parties, under any circumstances.

    Any use not included in the previous clauses, must be requested by the magazine and previously approved by the photographer.

  1. PROMOTIONAL USE – Pictures covered by this agreement may be used to promote the magazine, for the duration of the issue in which they are published, in the following media: Magazine´s website and Facebook page. It excludes any other promotional use of the same without express permission of the copyright owner.

  1. The Magazine is responsible for safeguarding the files received by part of the photographer, and should make every effort possible to avoid the copy and the theft of the same by third persons.
